Some albums arrived and are getting prepped for shipment! I can’t tell you how exciting it is to see the final product when it comes in – online previews of the layouts just don’t begin to give the true idea of what it’s like to hold these in your hands and go through the pages.

So excited to be getting these out.

A picture from one of the page spreads.  One of the things that I just LOVE about these albums is that we are able to design a spread without worrying about a cut down the center. The crease is extremely discrete – the image where Chris is kissing Maia’s forehead is where the crease is located.

A fun filled spread showing just a few of the highlights of guests dancing and having a great time at the reception.  Love to include one of these pages in an album.

And just a quick image showing the thickness of the pages – the book itself is about 1 1/4″ and the pages are semi rigid, with a matte finish…the paper makes it look just like a museum piece.

Next up is a sweet “Awaiting and Arrived” book for Krista and Craig.  These books are press-printed beauties with a hinged page, allowing the book to open completely without “hoving up” in the center.

Krista and Craig opted for the linen cover on their book.  It’s a slim book filled up with memories that “little Miss C.” will be thrilled to look through when she gets a bit older.

Another sign-in book being shipped out today – this time for Dena + Rich. You’ll see them again in a few months; they are getting married on July 19, 2008 in Harrisburg, PA.

The images were taken in the fall at the beautiful Schwab Estates and St. Francis University in Loretto.

Love the color in the leaves at the top of this page…and of course,  it’s wonderful when  my couples just seem to forget that I’m around and enjoy hanging out with each other.

And, when there’s leaves all around, you have to have a leaf fight ending in a friendly kiss. This is also a great opportunity to mention about the flexibility of designing with these books – the pages lay almost flat when opened (making it easier for guests to sign) and there’s no gutter in the center, which means that we can do true panoramic photos.

Kristin & Pete will be getting married on May 10 in Stonewood and Bridgeport, West Virginia.  Last fall, we got together for their engagement session.

They are doing some great things with the images that we got during the shoot – last last year, I designed a lovely save-the-date magnet for them to send out to their guests.  And they are planning on using selected black and white 5×7 images from the engagement session in an 8×10 mat and frame to place on each of the guest tables.  Kristin and I talked about what would look best on the tables and I can’t wait to see it! 

And finally, what arrived - their sign-in book for their guests which is getting sent out tomorrow.

Kristin & Pete – I can’t wait to see the two of you!  Only about a month to go!

Agata + Kevin’s albums have arrived and are gorgeous!  I hope that you two are checking the blog.  These will be packaged and sent out to you on Friday or Saturday…I’m out of the office today to go see my accountant.

The same bookbinder was used as what is for Kristy + Chris, only Agata + Kevin opted for a 10×10 book with a duplicate parent book.  We selected a red from the bridesmaid’s dresses as an accent color.

“Tis the season…for designing wedding albums.

Amber and Jason got married at the beautiful Marland Mansion located in Ponca City, OK and asked me to fly in to cover their ceremony and celebration.  They asked me to design a classic, clean, and contemporary matted album for them – and therefore, we chose a Queensberry album because of their use of quality materials and workmanship.  Their album will feature a chocolate leather cover with beautiful ivory mats framing each photo.  Here are a few selected layouts:

Normally, my favorite photos of the day contain my couple and showcase their relationship.  But in this case, one of my favorite photos from the day actually doesn’t have Amber or Jason in it at all, but it truly tells a story…it’s one that is right before their ceremony started – rain had been happening on and off during the day – the clouds above the officiant tell this story – as he stepped out before the ceremony started and you can see the storm clouds to the right of the photo and to the left, you see the sky clearing with the sun trying to peek through toward the center.  The rain stopped just long enough to allow Amber and Jason to have the outdoor ceremony they wanted.  To me, it seemed like the universe was truly shining on them that day.

Back on May 7, 2005, I had the pleasure of photographing Kristy + Chris’s wedding at The Springwood in Pittsburgh, PA.  They decided that they would love to have an album that showcased the story of their wedding day.  It’s been wonderful having the opportunity to revisit their wedding as I worked on the layouts of their book.  They picked a 12×12 handcrafted book that was created by one of my favorite boutique bookbinders.

This album is going to be ready to go out to Kristy + Chris soon.  Another little tidbit about them – several months ago, Kristy left me know that they were expecting…but just found out that they are going to be having twins…a little boy and little girl!  Congratulations!  I’m so happy for the two of you!
